Defy

This week I read Defy by Sara Larson and really enjoyed it. It is the story about a girl named Alexa who after seeing her parents murdered and home destroyed is forced to masquerade as a boy in order to survive. I really enjoyed this book and I thought the plot line, although the theme was not completely original was intriguing and was full of surprises and plot twists. I really liked how the main character Alex(a) was strong and independent as well as relatable. Being 300 pages long and a fast read, I would recommend this one week book to anyone who likes Cassandra Clare, The Hunger Games and Divergent.
