The Complete Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales
edited by Lily Owens
Most people remember stories like The Princess and the Frog or Cinderella as Disney movies dedicated to young children. What they don't know is that the basis of these stories were built off of the Brothers Grimm fairytales, which by measure are much more gruesome. The stories were every short and fast moving so it was sometimes confusing because of the writing style, some of the stories were also very similar and after a while it became somewhat easy to guess the plot. The genre of these stories are fiction, and they are written in a combination of old and modern English. The book is a little more than 650 pages and the font is quite small, but there are also some very interesting illustrations. I would recommend this book for readers who enjoy classics and are fine with having to read a paragraph over to understand it. Also, if you enjoy reading books about other fairytales or mythology, this would be a good book.

ReplyDeleteThat sounds really cool. maybe i will read The Brother's Grimm.
ReplyDeleteI think that would be really interesting to read! I have heard all of those stories and to read the originals would be awesome! A lot of books put a twist on these simple stories and make them very boring.
ReplyDeleteMy Dad used to read us these stories when we were little, it's cool to remember them again. Thanks Kendal.
